Anyone who is in need of assistance may apply for welfare. Eligibility and total benefits given depends total household income, if there is an unusual crisis situation (such as medical emergencies, unemployment or homelessness), and the size of the family. There are two things to know about TANF: in order to prevent those who are taking advantage of the program from relying on it, you may only be enrolled in the program for two years, secondly, you must work for a minimum of 30 hours per week. if you fail to do either of these two things, it may result in a loss of benefits.
