To begin the application process you must first get into contact with the Human Service Department, sometimes referred to as Human Services, Family Services or Adult and Family Services. First you must make an appointment with a case worker who will inform you as to what documents to bring to your meeting. Common documents asked for include proof of income, ID, and utility bills or other proof of residency.

Be sure to gather these documents and bring them when you have your meeting with your case worker. Failure to do so could result in a postponement of assistance. After meeting with your case worker your eligibility will be determined based on your documents, financial state and information given at the meeting. Be honest about your situation, that is the best way to get the benefits you need.
